This was a group project. It was done for the Carrefour du Cinema d'Animation.

 

 

I made this short film with two girls from my course : Sandrine Jaber and Alix Michel.

 

We were given the drawing that you see at the beginning and end of the animation, and were told to make a 10 second animation out of it.

 

We decided to mix 2D animation with 3D, and moreso, to make it seem more natural, I threw in the idea to work on a toon shader derivative that would make the render look similar to the initial drawing.

 

In the end, we chose to do the overall animation on After effects, since it allowed much more ease for what we wanted to do, especially concerning blurs, and allowing for subtler tweaks with exteremely little to no render time involved.
