You're Going Down - Red Ball Project

2011-2012

This is the final render of a project spread over a school year.

We each were required to have a red ball in our short film, as either a character or an important prop. We were also require to have only one other character and only one setting.

After quite a bit of brainstorming, getting rid of ideas and merging others, I decided to go for something somewhat unexpected : a post apocalyptic gladiator fight.

The fights happen in a sealed off arena, cameras are there to broadcast it on TV or on the internet.

As two fighters are chosen at random, a brutal female warrior is due to fight... A red ball ?

I played with contrast here, mostly. Between the designs of both fighters. Between the seriousness of the setting and the ridiculousness of the situation.

Is the predator the one you expect ?

And here you can see the research, influences, design tryouts, and final

aesthetical choices made for the project.

These include deisgns for the environment, the props, and of course, the main character.
